Santre Grid

Spreadsheets your team already knows.

Santre Grid keeps the ribbon, formula bar and sheet tabs people already work with, and covers budgets, reports and analysis from the first formula to the printed page. Workbooks open and save as .xlsx.

02 / Capabilities

What is inside.

  • Formulas with dynamic arrays

Roughly five hundred worksheet functions cover statistics, finance, engineering, text, lookup and dates. Results spill into neighbouring cells, and LET and LAMBDA turn long formulas into readable ones.

  • Tables and data tools

Format a range as a table with a totals row and filter buttons, then sort on several levels. Remove Duplicates, Flash Fill, Text to Columns, data validation and subtotals tidy the data.

  • PivotTables and PivotCharts

Drag fields into the Pivot Table Fields pane to summarise thousands of rows. Group dates, show values as a share of the total, add calculated fields and chart the result.

  • Charts and sparklines

Column, bar, line, pie, scatter, waterfall, histogram, treemap and combo charts with a secondary axis. Trendlines show their equation and R², and sparklines fit a trend into one cell.

  • Conditional formatting

Colour scales, data bars and icon sets show the highs and lows at a glance.

  • What-if analysis

Goal Seek finds the input for a target result, and data tables and scenarios compare options side by side. Solver handles constrained problems, and Forecast Sheet projects a series forward.

  • A modern formula language

Dynamic arrays, LET, LAMBDA, MAP and REDUCE work alongside the classic functions.

  • Keeps what it does not edit

Custom data, external links and form controls in an .xlsx are carried through a save untouched.

  • Macros kept safely

Macros in .xlsm files are preserved exactly as they were and never run.

03 / Workflows

In practice.

  1. Build a monthly budget

Enter the categories as a table with a totals row, apply accounting number formats and add a colour scale to the variance column. A bar chart of spending against plan updates as the month goes on.

  2. Report sales by region

Import the CSV export, turn it into a table and insert a PivotTable with region in rows and quarter in columns. Add a PivotChart and sparklines, then check the key formulas with trace arrows and the Watch Window.

  3. Print a clean report

Set the print area in Page Break Preview, drag the margins on the rulers and add headers and footers in Page Layout view. Print to the office printer or export a PDF.

04 / Files and workspace

Opens and saves.

Opens
.xlsx.xlsm.xltx.xltm.xls.xlt.xlsb.ods.csv.tsv.txt.html
Saves
.xlsx.xlsm.xltx.xltm.csv.tsv.html.pdf

.xlsx has not yet been tested across a wide range of real-world workbooks, and very large workbooks are a known limit. .xls opens without formatting or charts, .xlsb and .ods open as values only, and PDF export covers Latin-script text only.

At the desk.

  • Ribbon and formula bar

Home, Insert, Formulas, Data, Review and View tabs, with a formula bar, Name Box, fill handle and point-and-click formula entry.

  • File view

New, Open, Info, Save As, Print preview and Export in one place, with sample workbooks to explore.

  • Formula auditing

Trace arrows, the Watch Window, Evaluate Formula and error checking show how a result was reached.

  • Page Layout views

Page Layout and Page Break Preview show the printed page while you edit.

  • Freeze and split

Drag the header handles to freeze panes, or split the window to compare distant ranges.

  • Dark mode and scaling

Work in dark mode and set the interface scale to suit your screen.
